    On July 28, 2015, China's National Energy Administration (NEA) released its solar data for the first half of the year. At the end of June 2015, China had added 35.78 GW of solar capacity to the grid. Distributed PV capacity reached 5.71 GW cumulatively, while utility-scale projects reached 30.07 GW.

    On Wednesday 22 July 2015, the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) launched consultations on planned restrictions of subsidies under the Renewable Obligations (RO) scheme for PV projects of up to 5 MW and on changes to the FiT scheme. The consultation will end on 2 September 2015.

    On 21 July 2015, private equity firm KKR announced it was acquiring 80% of solar developer Gestamp Asetym Solar S.L. (Gestamp Solar) from Gestamp Renewables. The transaction values Gestamp Solar at $1 billion. Through the partnership, KKR and Gestamp plan to pursue up to 2.5 GW of PV projects over the coming five years.
