    5.04 GW(ac) of new PV capacity was added to the grid in China in Q1’15, according to it's National Energy Administration (NEA). This brings China's cumulative capacity to 33.12 GW(ac), which 27.79 GW(ac) is utility-scale centralized generation, and 5.33 GW(ac) is distributed generation.

    On 16 April 2015, South Africa’s Department of Energy (DoE) announced the winners of Round 4 of the Renewable Energy IPP Programme (REIPPP). A total of 415 MWac were awarded to solar PV projects out of 1.1 GW of overall capacity. The DoE also announced plans for an extraordinary bid window for 1.8 GW of renewable power generation capacity in June 2015, in addition to Round 5, which is scheduled for 2016. Additionally, the DoE announced the ambition to arrange future procurement rounds for in total 6.3 GW of renewable power generation capacity.
