May 23, 2019 | Led by: Michael Howard, Senior Research Director and Advisor, Carrier Networks

Led by: Michael Howard, Senior Research Director and Advisor, Carrier Networks

Presented by IHS Markit, ECI and Fujitsu / 1 sponsor position available

The concept of network slicing in carrier networks has been around for a long time, delivered in the form of VPNs, VLANs, and IP/MPLS VPNs, well before the term was coined. Today, the mobile world has defined a network slice particular to their infrastructure, and it is fundamental to 5G architecture achieving a crucial implementation goal: multiple types of networks serving different use cases across its base. The ultimate goal is end-to-end network slices applied to a mix of fixed, mobile, and fixed-mobile use cases. This webinar will explore the many challenges associated with this ultimate goal, including guaranteed allocation of slices across a single network; automating the instantiation of a slice; and how to assure the SLAs on each slice. Additionally, this webinar will present the latest approaches and innovations for operators and vendors tackling the current challenges and those of the foreseeable future.
