Multimedia Polska plans IPO to raise investment funds

Multimedia Polska is planning an IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) in the next quarter of this year. The existing shareholders (M2 Investments Limited, Tri Media Holdings Limited, Dunaville Trading Limited and Collegium Anetta Kolasinska i Wspolnicy) will be offered 49.2% of the newly-issued shares. Multimedia Polska have hired a number of top investment banks to assist the offering: UBS was appointed as the global coordinator and underwriter, UniCredit and Raiffeisen Centrobank were selected as joint lead managers.

TV up, but Sky takes broadband hit in pre-Christmas quarter

The UK's Sky TV reported a strong quarter for TV services in the three months to end 2014, indicating it has seen little to no competitive impact for television subscription from BT's move on Premier League soccer rights and launch of BT Sports channels - at least operationally. But Sky did take a hit to its profit from the increased spend on sports and saw a slowdown in growth of its broadband offer compared to the same quarter a year earlier, suggesting BT's use of its sports channels as a loss-leader for broadband gains is beginning to work.
