2019 China TV Sales Snapshots during Double 11November 19, 201911/11 (also called Double 11, or Single's Day) is a retail holiday in China, where major retailers off promotions and discounts to celebrate single people. Alibaba this year recorded $38 billion USD in sales during the holiday, a 26% increase over last year. Q1'19 TV shipment analysis - TCL rises to #1 in North AmericaMay 21, 2019Global TV demand in Q1'19 saw moderate growth, better than expected. Ongoing trade issues between the US and China have resulted in some very unusual shipment patterns in North America, which has led to some stockpiling of inventory. Return of the Disruptive Business Model: Xiaomi TVOctober 25, 2018Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi entered the TV business in 2017, and has grown rapidly, rising to #1 in total unit shipments in China during Q2'18. TV sets excluded form China TariffsJune 15, 2018On June 15th, the US Office of the Trade Representative released the final document indicating which of the more than 1,300 products were to be included in tariffs against Chinese imports. The final list included more then 800 products, and an additional 280 were proposed pending public comment, totaling $50 billion in imports.
