Netflix commissions Australian original seriesMay 22, 2017Netflix has commissioned Tidelands, a primetime drama series, as its latest investment in local Australian content. Tidelands will debut exclusively on Netflix and premiere worldwide. The first season will have 10 episodes that run for 50 minutes each. Poland's TVN launches original commissions for Player.pl serviceOctober 07, 2015Polish broadcaster TVN is pushing further into online with an investment in five original series. The first series, a Polish version of US comedy Web Therapy, will launch on TVN’s Player.pl service on 21 October. Speaking at the Mipcom TV market in Cannes this morning, TVN executives said the 10 episode series will cost 1 million zlotys ($266 million), a similar budget to one of its traditional linear TV series. Vectoring starting to go mainstream with 5 million lines globallyMay 14, 2014The sale of VDSL2 vectored lines passed the 5 million milestone in March 2014, according to communications equipment firm Alcatel Lucent. Telcos such as Bezeq in Israel, KPN in the Netherlands, Telecom Argentina, Telecom Italia, TE Data in Egypt and NBN Co in Australia now use vectoring to reduce crosstalk and increase downstream speeds on their VDSL2 networks.

Multimedia Polska plans IPO to raise investment fundsMarch 27, 2014Multimedia Polska is planning an IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) in the next quarter of this year. The existing shareholders (M2 Investments Limited, Tri Media Holdings Limited, Dunaville Trading Limited and Collegium Anetta Kolasinska i Wspolnicy) will be offered 49.2% of the newly-issued shares. Multimedia Polska have hired a number of top investment banks to assist the offering: UBS was appointed as the global coordinator and underwriter, UniCredit and Raiffeisen Centrobank were selected as joint lead managers.
