Swedish Com Hem continues steady turnaround in digital TV growthFebruary 10, 2015Swedish cable operator Com Hem has seen improved digital subscriber growth following a period of slowdown. The fourth quarter of 2014 saw 1.7% growth on the previous quarter, with digital subscribers standing at 617,598. Year-on-year, this was a growth of 3.5%, reversing the decline of 2.5% experienced in 2013.

Fox and Apollo agree Endemol Shine joint ventureOctober 14, 2014US major 21st Century Fox and private equity firm Apollo Management have reached agreement to combine their production companies to create a `leading global multi-platform content provider`. Fox subsidiary Shine Group and Apollo-owned Endemol and Core Media will continue to operate as separate companies on completion of the deal, which is expected by the end of the calendar year. Kudelski to increase market share with Conax acquisitionApril 01, 2014Kudelski, the parent company of Swiss Conditional Access and TV software company Nagravision, is to acquire Conax, the conditional access business of Nordic telecoms and broadcasting company Telenor. Kudelski will pay NOK 1,509M, approximately USD 226M, for Conax and expects to complete the deal within 10 days of announcing the acquisition. This values Conax at 2.4 times its 2013 revenue.

Decline in Nordic satellite subscribers shows signs of easing in Q4 2013February 13, 2014Fourth quarter and full year results for Nordic satellite operators Canal Digital and Viasat show that the ongoing decline in Nordic satellite subscribers is continuing, albeit at a gradually reducing pace.
