Television Market Monitor - European pay TV Q1 2014 updateJuly 29, 2014It is becoming increasingly difficult to justify the view that cord-cutting remains a US-only phenomenon. Overall pay TV penetration declined in 12 European markets during Q1 2014, up from nine markets in Q4 2013. Although pay TV as a whole is still seeing growth in Europe, the number of markets now showing a trend towards cord-cutting is worrying. All of the markets affected are weaker markets for pay TV as a whole and tend to have a strong cable footprint (cable has suffered the most in terms of Q1 2014 declines).Subscribers Only
