My-HD Media revamps its business strategy with launch of My-Asia and Maghreb packagesDecember 17, 2015My-HD Media, the Dubai-based pay TV satellite operator, is to start 2016 with the launch of two new packages. In a press conference in Dubai, Mr Samir Safer, My-HD Media’s CEO, announced that the company will launch the My-Asia package by mid-January 2016. The new package will be simultaneously launched in 22 MENA countries. CraveTV to be offered as a standalone subscription service in 2016, announces exclusive HBO contentDecember 02, 2015Bell Media has announced it will unbundle CraveTV as of January 2016, making it available to anyone with a broadband connection in Canada. The service was first launched in December of 2014, but was only made available to Bell (and partner) pay TV customers as a sVoD “add-on” component to regular pay TV subscriptions. CraveTV cost Bell TV customers $4.00 extra a month; content from the service can be consumed both online via connected devices and via pay TV set-top boxes (STBs). In addition to opening the CraveTV service to non-pay TV customers, Bell has also recently announced that it has signed an exclusive multi-platform content deal with HBO, which will significantly increase the amount of HBO content and the duration of its availability for its customers. Bell Media will be able to deliver current and past seasons for popular TV series, in addition to, a library of exclusive HBO programming.Subscribers Only

BeIn Media enters MENA entertainment content marketNovember 06, 2015Qatar-based media company, BeIn Media Group, announced that it is entering the movies and entertainment content market in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The announcement, which came on October 31st, marked the 12th anniversary of the BeIn Media Group. Explaining the company’s decision, CEO Nasser Al Khelaifi stated: “Our consumer research in the MENA region indicated for quite some time that families expect a leading entertainment provider like BeIn to offer a complete range of TV entertainment channels. OSN prepares its defences with HBO channel and EST storeOctober 23, 2015HBO is to launch programming day and date with the US on a dedicated channel launching in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The channel, launching in 2016, is a joint venture with the pan-Arabic pay TV operator OSN. Poland's TVN launches original commissions for Player.pl serviceOctober 07, 2015Polish broadcaster TVN is pushing further into online with an investment in five original series. The first series, a Polish version of US comedy Web Therapy, will launch on TVN’s Player.pl service on 21 October. Speaking at the Mipcom TV market in Cannes this morning, TVN executives said the 10 episode series will cost 1 million zlotys ($266 million), a similar budget to one of its traditional linear TV series.
