US-China Tariffs Escalate - CE tariffs increased from 10% to 15%August 26, 2019On August 23rd, China raised tariffs on about $75 billion in goods from the US, including agricultural and automotive products. Most US CE Import Tariffs Delayed ... except TVsAugust 13, 2019On August 13th, 2019, the Office of the US Trade Representative announced that it was delaying the implementation of new 10% tariffs on some products that had been scheduled to go into effect on September 1st. Of the $300 billion tranche that was originally to be affected, CE products were some of the most prominent new inclusions, and surely would have impacted prices during the upcoming holiday season. The categories included in the delay entail smartphones, Notebook PCs, tablet PCs, game consoles and desktop monitors, along with other popular holiday shopping goods. However, TVs were not included on the list, and remain to be subject to the additional 10% tariff on September 1st. Of course, this could change.
