Matthew Kieffer

Matthew Kieffer is a senior analyst in the Cloud and Data Center research practice at IHS Markit.

Matthew Kiefferis responsible for covering data center physical infrastructure, including IT racks and enclosures, rack power distribution units (rPDUs), open rack infrastructure and data center cooling. He joined IHS Markit in 2019, and brings with him extensive experiences in renewable energy research, entrepreneurship and renewable liquid fuel business modeling. Previously, he co-founded Advanced Renewable Technologies International (ARTi), where he developed business models and techno-economic analysis that helped the company secure a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant. Earlier, as a senior analyst for Renewable Energy Group (REG),he drove creation of an optimization model that lead to more than $500K in savings and development of an inventory monitoring tool that mitigated $2M of commodity price risk. Mr. Kieffer holds a Bachelor of Arts in physics from St. Olaf College, a Master of Science in mechanical engineering and biorenewable technologies from Iowa State University, and an MBA focused on business analytics from the University of Iowa, United States.
