Galina Spasova

Galina joined IHS Markit Technology in 2017, working on the TV Media and Operator Multiplay intelligence services. She focuses on covering service providers and platforms in TV and telecoms markets in Central and Eastern Europe.

Prior to joining IHS, Galina worked in media, where she analysed the competitive landscape in the mobile sector and advised Samsung Europe on its media and communications strategy. She has also worked in business consultancy, completing research on various topics, including energy, technology and political risk.

Galina holds a Master's degree in International Conflict Studies from King's College London. She is fluent in English, Russian and Bulgarian.

DIGI Hungary to acquire rival telco Invitel

DIGI, one of the key players in the Hungarian pay TV and telecoms market, has reached an agreement to buy Invitel’s retail and small business customers for €140.7m. Invitel is the leading alternative telco in the market, offering pay TV, internet and fixed line telephony. The company is part of Invitel Group, which was sold to the CEE China fund by Magyar Telekom earlier this year.
