Team collaboration: Redefining enterprise communication

Enterprise communication and collaboration tools are meant to make life easier and more productive, but a typical office worker uses a variety of applications to get work done, from traditional phone calls and instant messaging to file sharing and web-conferencing. There are half a dozen ways to reach another user, it’s difficult to move between applications, and the low cost of communication means users are bombarded by a steady stream of messages throughout the day. Team collaboration tools are trying to solve these challenges by redefining communication and collaboration around dedicated channels, bringing together multiple communication modalities like voice, video, conferencing, and messaging into one platform, and layering on additional functionalities like search, whiteboarding, and file sharing.
