Marianna Angelou

Dr. Marianna Angelou, principal analyst at IHS Markit, focuses on network infrastructure equipment and mobile technologies markets.

For the majority of her professional life, Marianna worked as a researcher and project manager in the framework of EU-funded research projects. She joined IHS Markit in 2016. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Marianna worked for Gartner in the firm’s consulting service line.

As a result of original scientific contributions in the field of optical networks, Marianna was awarded a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Catalonia. She has co-authored more than 40 scientific articles that appeared in international journals and conferences, and she is the co-author of 3 book chapters and holds 2 world patents on novel software-defined networking applications on optical networks.

Marianna has served as a reviewer for high-impact journals and as an external expert for EU-funded research projects. She also holds a Master of Science in Information and Telecommunication Technologies from Athens Information Technology and a Computer Science degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, both in Greece. She is fluent in English and Greek and has an intermediate knowledge of Italian. Marianna is based in London, UK.
