Devan Adams

Devan Adams, MBA, is a principal analyst at IHS Markit on the Cloud and Data Center Research team, where he manages IHS Markit's cloud, data center switching, and fibre channel storage intelligence services. 

Mr. Adams writes comprehensive analyst insights that allow customers to stay abreast of new market trends and important industry topics in the cloud and data center markets. He has more than a decade of experience in network product management, marketing, telecommunications and cloud research. Prior to joining IHS Markit, he was a market analyst at Infonetics Research, where he played an instrumental role in developing Infonetics' first off-premises cloud intelligent service. During this time, he also developed and helped manage intelligent service deliverables for data center networks and software defined networks. Mr. Adams has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering (EE) with a minor in mathematics and an MBA with market research specialization from the University of Cincinnati, United States.

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon 2018: Where boring is the new sign of success

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon 2018 was held in Seattle, Washington, from 10 to 13 December. Roughly 8K contributors, users, and partners from around the world attended the event. The keynotes featured presentations from Liz Rice, Co-Chair at Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF); Wendy Cartee, Senior Director at VMware; Chris Aniszczyk, VP/COO at CNCF; Lew Tucker, VP/CTO Cloud Computing at Cisco; Arun Gupta, Principal Technologist at Amazon Web Services (AWS); Jason McGee, VP/CTO at IBM Cloud; and several others. There were approximately 180 informational and training sessions primarily focused on containers and the development of other open-source projects for core and edge cloud networks; the event had 187 sponsors this year, compared to 40 during its inaugural year in 2016.
