Jamie Fox is a principal analyst and is focused on the markets for LEDs and other optoelectronic components. Based in the UK, he is the lead analyst for packaged LED shipments and demand. Jamie has been working in the LED area for IHS since 2006, has good relationships with most of the leading LED companies, and has spoken at many conferences in the US, Europe and Asia.

Jamie, holds a BSc in Physics and Astronomy and a Masters degree in Nanoscale Science and Technology.

Strong growth in packaged LED lighting revenue from 2007 to 2014 was the result of consumers replacing incandescent and fluorescent lighting with LED lighting. However, price erosion due to competition and the trend toward less robust, inexpensive 2835 packages caused revenues to decline by 9 percent in 2015, and 1 percent in 2016. Starting in 2017, revenue growth is expected to increase by 3 percent as prices settle.
