Akira Minamikawa is responsible for the management of all Japanese electronics research in addition to acting as a director and principal analysts.
Earlier, Akira was the head of the technology research department and senior analyst for the brokerage firm CLSA Securities. He also served as the director of semiconductor research at IDC Japan and the senior analyst for semiconductors at Gartner/Dataquest Japan.
He is a regular speaker at events held by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) and Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), and is frequently cited by publications including Semiconductor Industry News and Nikkei Electronics. He is also a member of the technical examination committee for automotive semiconductors for Japan’s Patent Office and a member of the FeRAM evaluation committee at the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Japan's largest public R&D management organization.
Akira is also a regular writer for the E-Journal, Nikkei Microdevices, and other semiconductor industry publications.
He received his Electrical Engineering degree from the Musashi Institute of Technology.
