Blackberry has exited the consumer market but the rapid growth of TikTok has been a key driver of user growth. The leading messaging and social apps tracked by IHS Markit had a combined user base of 9 billion monthly active users (MAUs) by end of June 2019, up 14% from 7.9 billion a year earlier. The year over year growth rate has slowed, falling from 18% for the previous year.
