Fimer to acquire ABB’s solar inverter business

Fimer signs an agreement to acquire ABB’s solar inverter business on the 9th July with the acquisition expected to reach financial closure in Q1 2020. ABB will pay Fimer approximately $323 million in the transaction. In addition, ABB will incur separation costs and other non-operational expenses related to the divestiture. In total, ABB expects to take an after-tax non-operational charge of approximately $470 million in the second quarter of 2019.
