Discount volumes and promotional lines quickly returned to typical levels, after a relatively quiet period during the first half of January. Nintendo is now visibly competing with PlayStation and Xbox, its volumes for game discounts for this month sitting comfortably alongside them.

Highlights of activity this month include publisher sales from Ubisoft, Take Two and Namco Bandai, with the latter in particular featuring heavily in PlayStation’s major Add-ons sale.

Highlights:

  • PlayStation (in EU and UK) continues to run a flash sale every single weekend since the new year.
  • Fallout 76's mixed critical reception leads to a deep discounting phase just weeks after its launch
  • Focus Home Interactive continues to offer discount on a scale comparable to that of bigger publishers
