SolarEdge Technologies today announced that it is acquiring a 75% stake in Korean battery and energy storage system supplier, Kokam - reflecting an investment of approximately $88 million. SolarEdge aims to eventually acquire the outstanding equity shares, making Kokam a wholly-owned subsidiary. The move holds strategic importance, as it enables SolarEdge to become an end-to-end provider of smart energy solutions and take advantage of growth in the Lithium-ion battery market.
