The mid-range pricing segment in the smartphone market is set to continue to be the most competitive segment for the foreseeable future. IFA showed that, even though competition in this price segment is already higher than in other segments, OEMs are doubling down and increasing the focus in this area.

A new revival cycle is emerging, with more OEMs focusing on the mobile gaming experience to differentiate handsets. These handsets focus on high powered CPUs and GPU performance and usually include an enhanced cooling mechanism as well as changes to the user interface for uninterrupted gaming.
