Being one of the largest gathering events of the global lighting society, the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (also known as Guang’ya Exhibition) grabs the attention of the world every year in June. With around 170 thousand visitors estimated to have visited the exhibition, it again reached a successful end after four days.
I attended the entire event on behalf of the lighting research team, not only paying attention to lighting, but also to advanced LED and smart home IoT applications. The exhibition was held across two zones, Zone A and Zone B. Zone A was mainly about lighting and smart home & building applications, while Zone B was focused more on lighting product parts such as LED and electronic components, and also products for horticulture lighting or outdoor lighting. Despite the stormy weather at the start and end, the exhibition and its conferences were still busy throughout all four days.
The noteworthy trends and phenomenon are summarized in this show report. These stories are written for those who could not join so that readers can have a quick but deep understanding of this large annual event.
