The latest report on consumer VR and AR recently published by IHS Markit (January 2018) complements last year's report with coverage on the consumer augmented reality and location-based (out of home) consumer virtual reality markets.

In particular, the location-VR section analyses the existing and planned VR initiatives of the likes of IMAX, AMC, Regal, mk2, PVR, CGV and others in an industry in which consumers spent $385 million in 2017, with China having a 65% of the market. This is forecast to grow to $906 million by 2021 with other regions becoming more prominent.
