European localisation of PS4 games: A PSN Store Survey

This report looks at the extent of localisation implemented for 800 games released on PS4, between 2013 and 2016. The focus is on European languages, broken out between two types of localisation: subtitles and dubbing. Among other things, we look at how localisation support differs between first and third-party games, or between download-only and packaged games. 

Highlights:

  • EFIGs group of languages remain best-supported, followed by Russian, Dutch, and Portuguese.
  • Bestselling download titles on PSN tend to offer higher-than-average extents of localisation support
