Nexon continues to enhance its lead in Q3 2017, capturing 64% share of the entire PC games business. This was due to the consistently strong performance of Dungeon & Fighter (DNF) in China, supported by the implementation of updates relating to Chinese National Day. The company also saw FIFA Online 3 and Maple Story rebound, as both games were successfully given extra marketing support during the summer vacation period.

Highlights:

  • Lineage M becomes key to NCSOFT's international expansion
  • Popularity of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds strikes both domestic and overseas business of Korean publishers
  • Korean publishers still struggle to enter Western markets, via either Steam or self-operation
