On 29th November 2017, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law bill A 6571, which makes New York the fourth state to adopt an energy storage target. This represents a further milestone for the energy storage industry in the United States, following the introduction of a non-binding target of 200 MW in Massachusetts in July. In the case of New York, the nature (e.g. whether it is mandatory or non-binding) as well as the actual level will be determined in the first quarter of 2018.
