iflix breaks into emerging markets with innovative operator partnerships

iflix secured USD 133 million funding on August 7, 2017, led by Hearst, the US-based mass media and business information conglomerate, Singapore based financial institution EDBI and clients of DBS private bank. Existing shareholders Evolution Media, Sky, Catcha Group, Liberty Global, Jungle Ventures and PLDT also increased their investments. This round of funding will be used to invest in local content strategy. Previous funding rounds received by the company include pre-launch funding of USD 30 million in April 2015 from Catcha Group and Jungle Venture, then it received USD 45 million from Sky in March 2016 and raised USD 90 million in March 2017 led by Liberty Global and Zain.
