Today Windstream announced it will acquire UCaaS provider Broadview Networks in an all-cash transaction valued at $227.5M. This follows its $1.1B merger with EarthLink that closed in February. The value is less than current 12-month revenues of $289M, but it is almost 2.7X of Broadview Networks’ UCaaS revenue making it one of the most important acquisitions in the market to date. Windstream is making the acquisition not for Broadview Networks’ legacy product suite but for its UCaaS platform, customer base, and channel work, and for the opportunity to shake up the market. The acquisition is expected to close in 3Q17. Clients, log in to read the complete insight.
