Since Netflix’s arrival in Latin America in September 2011, more than 130 online video services – both local and international – have launched throughout the region. Whilst most have struggled to capture much consumer interest, one local SVoD provider is aggressively competing with the US subscription VoD giant. Claro Video is quickly gaining market share despite increasing competition, and is in fact drawing closer to the market leader Netflix in a number of Latin American countries such as Mexico.
