International pay TV provider Liberty Global announced a partnership with Netflix to bring the SVoD company’s app to Liberty Global’s advanced pay TV platforms in more than 30 markets across Europe and Latin America.

The deal builds on the apparent success of a first-of-its-kind carriage deal struck between Virgin Media and Netflix in 2013, prior to Liberty Global’s acquisition of the UK cable operator in the same year. The rollout of the Netflix app to set-top boxes in all of the markets in which Liberty Global operates will commence with the Netherlands and continue into 2017.

For Netflix, the deal significantly increases the number of pay TV platforms the company has partnerships with, having already gained carriage with 28 operators, by IHS Markit’s count.
