The growth of smartphone penetration is now the key driver of adoption for new mobile payment services. Apple, Google and Samsung have all now offer device based payment services in certain countries, but not all smartphones are supported – with some services limited to only high-end or recent devices or those that have specific features such as fingerprint authentication and NFC support.
