Although shipments of semiconductor-based (Hall, magnetoresistive) magnetic sensors used in automotive applications grew 7.2 percent in 2015, revenue growth was just 2.2% compared to the previous year, reaching a total of $945 million. In contrast, the value of this market is expected to recover this year, rising 4.4 percent to reach $987 million in 2016, according to IHS Markit (Nasdaq: INFO), a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions.
