Samsung recently released the first Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc (UHD BD) player at US retail, the UBD-K8500. The unit is priced at $399 and along with Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc and HDR support, it supports 4K content streaming from Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, and M-GO. Panasonic and Philips showed UHD BD hardware at CES with 2016 release dates to be determined, and LG did not have any hardware to display but stated it would launch a UHD BD player at some point late in 2016.

Since CES, Sony has since stated that it will wait until 2017 to release a UHD BD player.
