Southeast Asia is one of the fastest growing gaming markets in the world considering its large population as well as rapid growing Internet penetration. IHS, however, expects the growth to come mostly from mobile segment rather than traditional PC games market. The consumer spending in Southeast Asia PC online games market was $748.7 million in 2015 representing a decrease of 11.8% year-over-year. This continuous decline since 2014 reflects rapid development of mobile app networks to outperform traditional PC online games. 

Highlight:

Industry shift to mobile and poor Internet infrastructure have led to decline in PC games. Although disappointing performance comes across the whole PC sector, several individual titles including Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends stand out. Six major countries namely Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines have accounted for more than 98% of the total SEA market with consumer spending of $733million in 2015. Each country has its own PC gaming landscape, leading publishers and popular titles which will address analysis respectively.
