IHS has added forecasts for standalone subscribers to Fox Sports Go and Sport1 Go, online video services with sports content in Netherlands. Previously, forecasts only accounted for TVE users getting access via pay TV subscriptions. Historics and forecast for standalone subscribers, views and revenues for both platforms are available via Broadband Media Intelligence TRAX under “Premium Cable” (please note that Premium Cable numbers also include Eurosport Player).
The viewers who get access to online sport platforms as a part of their sport package from Ziggo or KPN are still counted as within respective bundled pay TV subscription numbers in order to keep pay TV numbers consistent.
The number of total online video subscribers with access to sport in Netherlands now consists of:
- The number of standalone subscribers to online sport services. IHS estimates the number based on data collection, modelling and industry interviews.
- Number of bundled subscribers who get access to the sport content as a part of their pay TV packages, and then actively use either the online services or pay TV multiscreen services as a medium through which they consume network’s content.
This yields the following results for the number of subscribers. At the end of 2015 the projected number of online video sport subscribers in Netherlands stands at 0.428m, which is a 40% year on year increase from 2014. The number of subscribers is expected to grow further a 32% to 0.564m by the end of 2016.
