On 12th November 2013, Revolv Inc. – a Colorado-based smart home start-up – announced that it had begun shipping its Smart Home Solution to its pre-order customers. The Revolv system includes a ‘unifying’ gateway and back-end network that allows the consumer to operate a range of branded, high-end home automation devices in the market today, including Philips Hue lighting, Yale remote control locks, Belkin WeMo and Sonos Hi-Fi wireless speakers.
With the Revolv Smart Home Solution, consumers can ‘mix and match’ compatible wireless devices and appliances in their home to create a home automation system they can control via their smart phone. The Revolv system can automate home devices based on time, GPS proximity, sensor triggers such as motion in the home, and on-demand commands set by the user.
