Amazon recently announced its two latest portable-sized tablets, both featuring high-resolution TFT-LCD displays. As tablets are expected to be popular gift items during the Western Holiday season, Amazon announced its latest devices: the Kindle Fire HDX (7-inch) and the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 (8.9-inch). Both tablets feature in plane switching (IPS) enabled displays with wide viewing-angles, fast response times, and reaching pixel-per-inch (PPi) levels over 300. While both models are using IPS enabled TFT-LCD for their high-resolution displays, where they differ is in the type of TFT-LCD utilized.
