The active digital screen base now exceeds 23,000 for the first time in Europe in of which 53 per cent were also 3D enabled as at end Q3 2012. There are now 21 territories in Europe with over half of screens converted to d-cinema, which is up by just one from 20 the previous quarter as Russia joined the ranks in Q3, based on a calculation of modern screens and traditional fixed units. Average digital screen penetration reached 66.1 per cent across total Europe in Q3 2012 up from 46.1 per cent one year prior. The penetration was, on average, higher in W Europe (69.7 per cent) than C E Europe (52.9 per cent).
