Nearing the end of year 2011, discussions within the Chinese mobile internet and telematics circles are dominated by one trendy buzzword: SoLoMo, or Social-Local-Mobile, just like elsewhere around the globe. The Chinese, appearing to be drawn deeply by the fad of the new business concept, show very little skepticism that the internet's future lies upon SoLoMo, which is to penetrate mobile location-enhanced features and services into users' every move and social connection in the course of their daily life by integrating LBS and SNS apps into mobile devices. They also believe, at least for now, that O2O (Online to Offline) commerce is the business model to make money out of SoLoMo. O2O commerce refers to the term the industry adopted to describe the utilization of online activities for driving off-line, local sales.
